It all started with a bad debut in a oneday match against West Indies in 1992 World Cup. I was small studying in class 10th. I thought this lean, fair looking boy needs more practice to get going... then there are a gap of about 4 years, suddenly I was amazed to see that same name making headlines. Yes, my friend he is Sourav Ganguly!
I believe ten thousands of such blogs and websites write bad and good things about this man! But what crime this man has done? I am not a cricket statistician and a good read in the game of cricket. Only thing I knew that this man has brought a revolution in the Indian Cricket team. The team is now called "Team India". The man was unceremoniously removed from the throne which he ruled for 5 years. The team which he had built was handpicked and tested by him. He dictated the terms in and off the field.
My friends say he did lot of Dadagiri in the team. I say he did right! That dadagiri was required to break the so called 'Bombay lobby' and the 'regional biasness' in the game. He brought in players from all over the country.
Those who think we "Bengalis" are unpatriotic as been called by lot of so called 'Cricket gyaanis' in television and other media, please let me know how many Bengali players were brought into the team by Sourav and he supported them to stay in the team even if they did not perform.
It is good that new and young cricketers are getting chances to show their metal. It is a good sign for Indian Cricket, but I still firmly believe that Dada still has a couple of years of cricket left in him.

As you term is so right "Team India" that is what should have been the concentration allways for the country and the media (TV, Print etc). Our cricketrs are given a god icon image and made par celebs of the country--- good, actually very good. the world is round, u perform in india u are great, you are a icon, you dont you are impeached by every media... the same people who made you headlines will again get you on the headlines but this time to make people forget you.
When the path to being famous is fast promoted the downfall also comes at the same amount of pace and impact.
I will sight a small example "Amitabh Bachan took a very hard earned, worked and dedicated path to become a super star, it was not a easy path and not a easy place to reach. When he went down line in his career with after Khudha Gawa and then the ABC problem, he was not impeached to the darkness or thrown off beat, his name was hard earned so didnt disepear, he is today bigger and better then the best" similarily Ganguly is a great player his dedication to the purpose was allways there, he didnt perform for some time... many dont.. but that doesnt mean he is lost in dark.
He has the heart and the talent will be shining bigger than before. Why worry ARGO its hard work that matters, ganguly does that i believe strongly there would be nothing stopping his road to lead the team again.

Live with it and it is a fact that would be there for ever. Give me a break what is Team INdia if we start fighting over issues of single player look at it this way the team is winning it doing good that s the end of the story DADA is good but he has crossed his prime and there are guys who are better face it.
